Yes. The exact regular/quick rinse-free range is1–8 green cups.
Explore this need in the finder →The NS-ZCC18 offers a larger rice pan with direct heating, microcomputer control and adjustable white-rice texture. It is a candidate for a household preparing substantial rice meals while preferring familiar physical controls to a pressure mechanism. The large size earns its place through ordinary rice capacity, rather than an unusually broad set of named grain programs.
White rice, sushi and rinse-free rice have different limits
Regular white rice accepts 1–10 supplied cups before cooking, using the approximately 180 mL clear cup. Brown and semi-brown rice accept2–8. That supports a large brown-rice batch, but it rules out a one-cup brown-rice dinner within the manual's documented range. The smaller ZCC10 begins at one cup, so it may be more useful when the big batch is only occasional.
The exact manual also limits regular sushi rice to 1–8 cups on this model, rather than the full ten-cup ordinary white-rice maximum. Mixed and sweet rice are limited to 2–6, and porridge to 0.5–2.5. Planning a group meal around the title alone can therefore lead to the wrong size choice. Decide which dish will be cooked in quantity and use its own row in the manual.
Rinse-free white rice requires the supplied approximately 171 mL green cup and the corresponding preparation selection. Its regular/quick maximum is eight of those cups. Keep that cup distinct from the ordinary180 mL measure, and follow the matching water instructions. Neither number should be translated directly into a fixed number of cooked servings.
What the controls provide
The white-rice choices include regular/sushi, softer and harder. Brown, semi-brown, mixed, porridge, sweet, rinse-free and Quick cover familiar rice routines. This is a direct-heating cooker with microcomputer adjustments, rather than an induction or pressure model. Its cooking logic is not the same user-feedback feature as My Rice on the JEC series.
A household with a consistent bag of rice and a preferred texture can use the same program repeatedly, adjusting water within the instructions if needed. For a shared household, agree on that ordinary routine first. The harder and softer selections then provide clear alternatives when the meal or the people eating it call for a different texture.
Look beyond the main switch labels carefully
There is no dedicated Jasmine, quinoa or steel cut oatmeal button. That does not mean the cooker is limited to the menu names: Zojirushi publishes model-specific grain methods for these appliances. An approved method using another menu is a different proposition from a dedicated program, however. Follow its own grain quantity, water ratio and serving restrictions. Do not borrow the smaller ZCC10's recipe quantities simply because the two models share a family name.
If clearly named quinoa and oatmeal choices are important, the QAC18 offers those programs with documented dedicated-menu ranges. If pressure and feedback-based white-rice adjustment are the attractions, compare the JEC18. The ZCC18 is for a different preference: substantial rice loads with direct heating and conventional menu navigation.
Large-batch handling and cleaning
The inner pan has side handles and a coated interior. Consider how comfortably you can carry, rinse and dry that pan after a large meal. The removable inner lid is part of the cleaning routine, not an accessory to leave untouched indefinitely. The supplied rice measures, spatula and holder do not include a steaming basket.
Two timer memories, automatic and extended Keep Warm, and reheating help serve appropriate rice at different times. They remain subject to each grain and recipe's restrictions. The built-in retractable cord helps when storing the appliance, but the operating location still needs an unobstructed steam path. The current US store gives approximate closed dimensions of 11.125 inches wide,14.25 deep and9.5 high; allow additional lid-opening and pan-removal space.
Our fit assessment
Choose the ZCC18 when large regular white-rice or two-to-eight-cup brown-rice loads recur often. Choose the ZCC10 when a one-cup brown-rice meal is common. For a supplied tray with named Jasmine and slow-cook options, the GAC18 merits a separate look. Capacity, recipe instructions and daily handling make the stronger buying case than the family name alone.
