Explore this need in the finder →The NW-QAC18 is a large non-pressure induction cooker for households that prepare several kinds of rice and grains in meaningful quantities. Its dedicated quinoa and steel cut oatmeal menus make it more versatile than a rice-only choice, and a steaming tray is supplied. Check the higher quinoa, brown-rice and oatmeal minimums before choosing it over the smaller QAC10.
Size it for quinoa and brown rice
Quinoa accepts 2–6 supplied cups of dry grain. That is a substantial batch for grain bowls, salads or several meals. It is also a clear reason to avoid the larger model if you routinely cook only one cup. The smaller QAC10 supports that amount, while this model starts at two. Choosing extra capacity in reserve can remove the small-batch flexibility you use most often.
White rice and Jasmine accept 1–10 supplied cups; Brown and GABA Brown accept 2–8. Steel cut oatmeal is rated for 1–3 cups. These quantities use the supplied approximately 180 mL measure and describe uncooked ingredients. They are not US measuring-cup amounts or guaranteed cooked yields. Keep a note of the dry amount your household actually uses before comparing the headline sizes.
The mixed-rice range is 2–6 supplied cups, which is smaller than the white-rice maximum. If a group meal involves seasoned rice and vegetables, use the menu-specific ingredient allowance. A large plain-rice rating does not give permission to add ingredients to a full ten-cup load.
A broad menu without pressure cooking
The induction system heats a spherical pan with a double nonstick coating. Named white, quick white, Jasmine and quick Jasmine programs let you select a routine appropriate to the grain and available time. The distinction is especially useful if Jasmine is a regular food rather than an occasional substitution for short grain rice. It avoids buying a cooker on the vague assumption that all white rice uses one identical program.
GABA Brown incorporates extended preparation and cooking. Plan it as a longer routine, with enough lead time before serving. Like ordinary Brown, it starts at two supplied cups. If one-cup brown-rice dinners are a regular need, the smaller model is a better starting point regardless of which of those two programs you prefer.
A roomier steaming tray
The supplied tray and adjustable Steam program provide a separate reason to consider this model. The manual allows steamed foods up to approximately 2.75 inches high, compared with 1.5 inches on the QAC10. That vertical allowance may matter for the shape of vegetables or other approved foods. It does not tell you that every larger food item will cook safely or evenly; use the prescribed loading and cooking instructions.
Plan a steaming session around its own water and timing instructions. The supplied tray alone does not establish a full-capacity simultaneous rice-and-vegetable recipe. If preparing two dishes together is essential, check the approved method and combined limits before relying on that workflow. Do not join the maximum rice capacity to the maximum steam load as though both automatically apply at once.
Place it where it can open
The approximate closed dimensions are 10.375 inches wide, 13.375 deep and 9 high. Open-lid height is about 19.625 inches. A shelf may comfortably clear the closed flat top and still prevent convenient filling. Check pan removal, tray handling and the steam path in the actual operating position.
Two finish-time timer memories, automatic and extended Keep Warm, and reheating help organize suitable rice meals. Follow the restrictions for individual recipes. The integrated vent and removable inner lid help with cleaning access; the self-cleaning cycle reduces odors rather than replacing washing. A large pan and tray also require drying space. Consider that everyday work alongside the attractive flat-top design.
When the larger QAC is justified
Choose the QAC18 when two or more supplied cups is a normal quinoa or brown-rice load and you will use its broader grain menu or taller steam allowance. Downsize to the QAC10 for one-cup quinoa and half-cup oats. For pressure-based rice cooking, compare the NWC18; for feedback-driven texture adjustments, compare the JEC18. Those alternatives answer different needs rather than simply adding more capacity.
