The NL-EAC18 is a larger direct-heating grain cooker with named long grain white, Jasmine, quinoa and steel cut oatmeal programs. It is relevant when two supplied cups or more is a normal load and a supplied steaming basket is not required. Its smaller closed footprint should be weighed against the fairly tall open lid and high minimums for breakfast grains.

The larger menu ranges begin at two

White, Quick, Long Grain White, Sushi and Jasmine accept2–10 supplied cups of uncooked rice. Brown and GABA Brown accept2–8. Quinoa accepts 2–6, while steel cut oatmeal is limited to 2–3. Those quantities use the approximately 180 mL supplied measure. They do not mean ordinary US cups, finished bowls or a guaranteed number of servings.

The oatmeal minimum deserves particular attention. Two supplied cups of dry steel cut oats is a substantial breakfast batch. If you normally want one cup, a large headline rice capacity does not solve that smaller daily need. The EAC10 starts oats at one cup, while the QAC18 also provides a lower one-cup oatmeal minimum despite its large rice capacity.

Jasmine congee accepts 0.5–1.5 supplied cups of rice. That smaller load applies to a specific water-rich dish and does not reduce the ordinary white-rice or oatmeal minimum. Select the grain program and its quantity together. The ability to cook a small congee does not establish approval for a small load on every button.

Useful distinctions within the grain menu

The named Long Grain White and Jasmine selections are useful when different rice styles recur through the week. They provide explicit routines rather than requiring a borrowed cooking menu. Quinoa and steel cut oatmeal have dedicated programs too. This can make the EAC18 a more straightforward choice for a varied grain household than a traditional rice cooker whose main panel only lists rice styles and porridge.

GABA Brown adds a longer preparation routine, and Cake offers another prescribed use. Plan the cooking time and follow the exact ingredient instructions. A two-cup brown-rice batch fits either Brown or GABA Brown; a cake needs its own ingredient and loading method rather than the rice water scale. These are different tasks within the same appliance.

What this configuration does not supply

The EAC18 uses direct heating with microcomputer control, rather than induction or pressure. Its supplied accessories are a measuring cup and self-standing spatula. There is no Steam program or supplied steaming basket. If a vegetable tray is central to the meal plan, compare an expressly supported configuration instead of treating the broad grain menu as a steaming capability.

The TPC18 supplies a basket and carries a specific PFAS/BPA food-contact declaration, but lacks the EAC18's named quinoa and oatmeal programs. The QAC18 combines induction, a tray and those grain programs with different limits. These are separate combinations of features, rather than interchangeable ten-cup cookers.

Counter placement and daily care

The approximate closed size is 10.75 inches wide,13.5 deep and9.75 high. Open-lid height is about 20.125 inches. A low cabinet can therefore interfere with filling and removing the pan even though the closed flat-top body fits beneath it. Leave a clear steam path and enough room to handle the larger pan comfortably.

The removable inner lid, integrated vent and detachable cord help with access and storage. A self-cleaning cycle reduces odors but does not replace washing the pan and food-contact parts. The manufacturer's BPA-free statement applies to areas contacting food or beverages; it is not a broader unlisted claim about every material or coating.

Automatic and extended Keep Warm, reheating and two timer memories help organize appropriate rice meals. Respect each grain's holding restrictions, and allow enough lead time for the selected program. A finish-time timer cannot turn an extended GABA Brown routine into an immediate meal.

Our fit assessment

Choose the EAC18 when larger grain batches are the everyday use: two-to-six-cup quinoa loads, two-to-eight-cup brown rice, or substantial oatmeal breakfasts. Downsize when the ordinary weekday minimum is smaller. Its strongest case is a varied, clearly programmed grain routine in a direct-heating appliance, provided the absence of a supplied tray and the open-lid height fit your kitchen.
