A useful fit for

Households whose regular plain-white batch is one to six Cuckoo cups and whose mixed, GABA or non-pressure batches stay at four cups or less.

The main tradeoff

The manual gives no sushi or porridge menu, the listed non-white modes stop at four cups, the three-hour GABA method cannot use preset timing, and the steam plate is sold separately.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Can I cook 5 supplied cups of ordinary white rice in one batch?

Yes. The exact six-cup US manual allows one to six supplied cups for White Rice and High Heat White Rice. The same five-cup quantity is above the four-cup ceilings for Mixed Rice, GABA, Super Turbo and non-pressure white.

Will 5 supplied cups of Mixed Rice fit?

No. The model-specific Mixed Rice and High Heat Mixed Rice ranges stop at four supplied cups, even though plain white rice is allowed to six.

Explore this need in the finder →
Can I schedule the three-hour GABA Brown setting to finish at a chosen time?

No. The manual permits preset cooking for zero-hour GABA, but not for the three-hour germination setting.

Can this exact cooker use the documented three-hour GABA Brown setting without requiring a finish timer?

Yes. Its exact U.S. manual documents a three-hour GABA setting. On this setting the manual says the finish preset is unavailable, so this is not a claim that three-hour GABA can be scheduled.

Can the three-hour GABA setting and finish timing both be essential?

No. The model-specific manual distinguishes zero-hour GABA (preset permitted) from three-hour germination (preset unavailable).

A six-cup cooker whose grain limits change with the mode

The Cuckoo CRP-ST0609F is a household electric pressure rice cooker with a choice between high-pressure and non-pressure cooking. Its headline maximum is six Cuckoo measuring-cup servings, but that applies to the ordinary and high-heat white-rice menus. Several useful branches stop at four cups. If you compare cookers by the grain and dry batch you make most often, that distinction matters more than the broad list of 16 labeled modes.

This assessment covers the US CRP-ST0609F family, sold in gray CRP-ST0609FG and white CRP-ST0609FW finishes. The manufacturer lists these as finishes of the same six-cup configuration. Its manual's cover uses the abbreviated “CRP-ST06” label and 1.08 L capacity; the U.S. store's manual index links that document from its CRP-ST0609F row, and the current product page gives the full model and finish SKUs. That is the evidence bridge used here, not a claim that every Cuckoo model sharing “ST” has the same manual.

Do the dry-cup check before choosing the larger feature list

The manual says to measure with the supplied rice cup, not a standard U.S. kitchen cup. It documents one to six cups for White Rice and High Heat White Rice. Super Turbo White Rice stops at four. Mixed Rice, High Heat Mixed Rice and both GABA settings also top out at four, as do Non-Pressure White Rice, Veggie Rice and Frozen Stored Rice. In other words, a five-cup plain-white dinner is within the documented white-rice range; a five-cup multigrain or GABA batch is not. The capacity line is not a universal loading permission.

The manual explicitly says this model does not support the Sushi Rice or Thick/Thin Porridge menu. A desire for rice porridge should therefore change the recommendation rather than being treated as an easy extension of its white-rice capacity. The 12-cup cooked-yield label is nominal, not 12 dry cups or a promise about every recipe. Hard beans and red beans need soaking or boiling before they go into the Mixed Rice method, as the instructions caution.

“Twin Pressure” means two cooking modes, not two pots

Turn the lid handle to choose High Pressure or Non Pressure before selecting a menu. White, High Heat White, Super Turbo, Mixed and GABA are on the high-pressure side. Non-Pressure White, Frozen Stored Rice, Veggie Rice, Baby Food and Non-Pressure Steam are on the other side. The cooker is not freely switching the same recipe between modes: using a high-pressure menu with the non-pressure control, or vice versa, triggers an error and will not start.

Open Cooking is a specific non-pressure feature. The instructions say to wait for the locking indicator to release, open only after the “add ingredients” indication, and close the lid within three minutes; heating pauses while it is open. This is useful for a recipe that calls for a mid-cycle addition, but it is not permission to lift the lid during high-pressure cooking. The US product information identifies an electric high-pressure heater, not induction heating. Compare the six-cup CRP-LHTR0609F if induction heating is a priority; its menus and pot configuration must still be judged from that model’s own instructions.

GABA and preset timing are not interchangeable promises

The GABA Brown menu offers a zero-hour selection and a three-hour germination setting. The preset instructions say the three-hour GABA setting cannot be scheduled to finish at a preset time; select zero hours if you need to schedule that GABA menu. The preset timer itself advances in ten-minute steps from one hour to twelve hours and fifty minutes. A timer on the machine does not mean every chosen mode can use it, and the time remaining on the display is the time until completion, not just the active heating interval.

Automatic Keep Warm and Reheat are present. The manual advises keeping cooked rice warm for less than twelve hours to avoid the taste and appearance changes it describes, and it cautions that brown and mixed rice do not hold like white rice. Treat that as operating guidance, not a food-safety guarantee. The cooker is rated for 120 V, 60 Hz and 880 W. The manual gives 10.3 × 13.9 × 10.4 inches, while the product page gives 10.4 × 13.9 × 10.7 inches; check the actual clearance rather than relying on a precise fit claim from either rounded set.

Cleaning and included equipment are practical tradeoffs

The inner cover is detachable, and an Auto Clean steam-cleaning program is listed. Those features help with access to the lid and steam path, but they do not replace washing the cooking pot, detachable cover and condensation collector. The supplied inner pot has a nonstick cooking surface; Cuckoo warns against rough or metallic scrubbers. A bare stainless cooking surface is not included.

The manual’s accessories panel lists the manual, rice scoop, measuring cup and a steam plate that can be purchased separately. The current product page’s included-accessory list names the manual, scoop and measuring cup. Do not count a steaming basket or plate as part of the box, and do not assume that the separate steam menu means rice and food can be steamed together in one cycle.

Who should choose it?

Choose the CRP-ST0609F when your regular plain-white batch fits one to six supplied cups, you want both pressure and non-pressure options, and a four-cup ceiling on the other listed grain methods is acceptable. It is less suitable if your routine requires five or six cups of mixed rice, a scheduled three-hour GABA run, a dedicated porridge program, or an included steam basket. For more white-rice capacity and documented thick and thin porridge ranges, compare the ten-cup CRP-ST1009F; for induction, compare the separate LHTR family. The exact US product specification and manufacturer operating manual are the right final checks for the finish and accessories offered by a seller.
