A useful fit for

Large white-rice batches up to ten supplied cups, or households using the smaller documented Mixed, GABA, non-pressure or porridge limits.

The main tradeoff

The ten-cup headline is white-rice capacity, not a universal menu limit; GABA at three hours cannot use preset timing, the cooking surface is coated, and the steam plate is a separate purchase.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Can I cook 8 supplied cups of ordinary white rice in one batch?

Yes. The exact ten-cup US manual documents one to ten supplied cups for White Rice and High Heat White Rice. The Mixed Rice, GABA and non-pressure limits are lower.

Can I schedule the three-hour GABA Brown setting to finish at a chosen time?

No. The manual prohibits preset timing for the three-hour GABA selection; its zero-hour option can be preset.

Explore this need in the finder →
Can I make 1.5 supplied cups of thick rice porridge?

Yes. The ten-cup model has a separate Thick Porridge range from one to two supplied cups. This is not permission to use the larger white-rice scale for porridge.

Can this exact cooker use the documented three-hour GABA Brown setting without requiring a finish timer?

Yes. Its exact U.S. manual documents a three-hour GABA setting. On this setting the manual says the finish preset is unavailable, so this is not a claim that three-hour GABA can be scheduled.

Can the three-hour GABA setting and finish timing both be essential?

No. The model-specific manual distinguishes zero-hour GABA (preset permitted) from three-hour germination (preset unavailable).

Ten cups of white rice, but not ten cups of every menu

The Cuckoo CRP-ST1009F is a ten-cup electric pressure rice cooker with the Twin Pressure choice between high-pressure and non-pressure cooking. Its main strength is the large plain-white-rice range: the U.S. manual allows one to ten supplied rice cups for White Rice and High Heat White Rice. That does not carry over to all the menus. Turbo white rice, GABA, non-pressure white rice and frozen-stored rice have lower ceilings, and Mixed Rice has its own limit. Match the regular grain first, then look at the features.

The reviewed family includes the white CRP-ST1009FW and gray CRP-ST1009FG finishes. The current U.S. product page identifies those two SKUs under the ten-cup CRP-ST1009F product. The official store manual index links its CRP-ST1009F row to the instructions used here; the manual cover shortens the name to “CRP-ST10” and states a 1.8 L, one-to-ten-person capacity. This exact size match is distinct from the six-cup ST0609F, whose own manual has different limits.

Which quantities fit each program?

Use the supplied rice measuring cup, not a standard U.S. measuring cup. White Rice and High Heat White Rice each run from one to ten supplied cups. The maximum for Mixed Rice and High Heat Mixed Rice is eight. GABA Rice and High Heat GABA Rice top out at six, while Super Turbo White Rice, Non-Pressure White Rice, Veggie Rice and Frozen Stored Rice stop at four or six depending on the manual’s specific menu: Turbo is four; non-pressure white, veggie and frozen-stored rice are six. Thick Porridge has its own one-to-two-cup range, and Thin Porridge runs from half a cup to one. The advertised twenty-cup cooked yield is nominal; it is not twenty dry cups.

These differences change real meal planning. An eight-cup white-rice dinner is inside the regular white range; it is also at the ceiling for Mixed Rice, but above the GABA and non-pressure-white maxima. A 1.5-cup porridge batch fits the thick scale, not the thin one. Do not substitute the white-rice line for a grain-specific limit. The manual tells users to soak or boil hard beans before using Mixed Rice.

Set the pressure position before selecting a menu

The lid handle physically selects High Pressure or Non Pressure, and the available menu list depends on that choice. High pressure includes the white, mixed and GABA programs, Turbo and high-pressure steam. Non-pressure cooking includes Non-Pressure White Rice, Frozen Stored Rice, Veggie Rice, Porridge, Baby Food and non-pressure steam. The user has to select the correct matching cook button; a wrong pairing is rejected rather than silently changing how the recipe runs.

Open Cooking is documented only for a non-pressure process. Wait until the cooker shows the add-ingredients prompt, then close the lid within three minutes. Heating pauses while the lid is open. It is a controlled way to stir or add ingredients for a recipe that calls for it, not a way to interrupt high-pressure rice. The ten-cup cooker is an electric pressure model rated at 1,150 W, not an induction cooker. If induction is essential, compare the CRP-LHTR1009F and read its own configuration-specific capacity and cleaning details; the product families should not be treated as interchangeable just because both say Twin Pressure.

The preset timer has a method-specific exception

The preset timer advances in ten-minute steps from one hour through twelve hours and fifty minutes. The manual says that the three-hour GABA germination setting cannot be preset. If you need to schedule GABA Rice, the manufacturer’s instructions direct you to choose the zero-hour setting instead. This is a useful example of why “timer included” is not the same as “timer works on my exact recipe.” On a questionnaire, select the grain, batch and method-specific timer need together.

The manual also documents automatic Keep Warm and Reheat. It advises that cooked rice is better kept warm for less than twelve hours because the color and odor can change; brown and mixed rice are less suited to long holding than white. That is a quality instruction, not a safety guarantee. Dimensions are 11.4 inches wide by 15.3 deep by 11.1 high in the U.S. manual; leave room for lid opening and steam clearance rather than treating those closed dimensions as cabinet clearance.

Maintenance and the steam-plate question

The inner lid detaches, and an Auto Clean steam program is listed, but routine care still includes the inner pot, cover, gasket area and condensation collector. The supplied inner pot is nonstick-coated; a stainless appearance or exterior is not a bare cooking surface. Cuckoo warns against rough or metal scrubbers. Its manual identifies the steam plate as separately purchasable. The current product page lists the manual, rice scoop and measuring cup as accessories, so a steaming tray is not an included-package assumption. The steam modes also do not establish a rice-under-steamer method.

Who gets value from the larger body?

Choose this model if ten supplied cups of plain white rice is a real recurring batch, and the lower Mixed, GABA, Turbo and non-pressure limits still cover the side dishes you make. The CRP-ST0609F is smaller and omits the porridge menu; it is a better comparison when most dinners are six cups or less. The LHTR1009F is the relevant Cuckoo comparison if induction heating matters. If your usual batch is smaller, the larger cooker does not turn every program into a ten-cup one and brings a bigger body to store and clear around. Consult the manufacturer’s CRP-ST1009F instructions and the exact U.S. product page to confirm the finish, included equipment and current configuration.
