Rice cookers · Choose by your needs
Rice cookers with documented non-pressure operation
A non-pressure cooker can still be a capable grain appliance, but its useful menus and batch ranges differ. The Aroma ARC-7604 documents one-to-four supplied cups for White and Brown; the AMC-800's manual routes Brown through Multigrain and has a separate, smaller SmartCarb method. Choose by your exact recipe, not by pot capacity or the word multicooker.
- The exact model must be documented as non-pressure for rice-cooking operation.
- A Steam plate, multicooker label, or included pot does not establish pressure cooking.
- Compare each grain using that model's own menu and dry supplied-cup range.

Non-pressure does not mean one-touch or single-menu
These results include direct-heating, induction, and multi-menu cookers. The selection confirms that pressure cooking is not documented as a capability; it does not imply a basic switch, limited recipe range, or lower quality.
Use the relevant recipe table
The ARC-7604 gives a four-cup maximum for both White and its Brown-through-Multigrain route. The AMC-800 also routes Brown through Multigrain, but its SmartCarb White plan is a separate one-to-two-cup method. If that function is your reason for choosing it, use its reduced plan limit rather than the ordinary White or nominal cooked-yield number.
Keep pressure, food, and timer needs separate
The full result set includes all non-pressure candidates. If you require a specific grain, pressure menu, timer arrangement, same-cycle steaming, or Keep Warm behavior, add that condition and confirm the exact method still matches. Non-pressure operation does not establish any of those other functions.
Questions that change the choice
Does a non-pressure model have fewer grain options?
Not necessarily. The ARC-7604 and AMC-800 both document multiple menus, but recipe support and quantities differ by model. Check the exact manual rather than inferring menu depth from pressure capability.
Can I use the AMC-800's ordinary White limit for SmartCarb?
No. Its SmartCarb White route is documented for one to two supplied cups; the ordinary White route has a separate range. Follow the specific SmartCarb instructions.
